A Healing Boost to Start the New Year

Happy New Year! I hope it’ll be one filled with joy and fulfillment for you.

To support you in entering the new year powerfully, I want to share a couple healing recipes with you this month. Inspired from the wisdom that St. Hildegard shared long ago about natural healing, nutrition, and healthy living, these recipes will help to strengthen and invigorate your energy.

“Everywhere in creation, trees, plants, animals, and gems, there are mysterious healing forces…” St. Hildegard of Bingen

This tonic packed full of the healing forces of plants is perfect for detoxing and boosting the immune system as you start the new year. It’ll warm you inside and out in the cold of winter!

The Ingredients

Today we know that these 3 ingredients have great benefits for our health. The combination of ginger, turmeric and lemon in this tonic recipe provides a healing boost for your body.

Ginger

The use of ginger dates back as early as 500 BC, originating in Southeast Asia. It packs a powerful flavor when added to food, but also has been used in traditional medicine since ancient times. Ginger is a natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant that has been known to aid digestion, improve immunity, reduce pain and relieve upset stomach.

Turmeric

Turmeric has been used for nearly 4,000 years and has gained popularity recently due to its many health benefits. It contains a compound called curcumin, which has potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. The addition of black pepper to the tonic helps with the bioavailability of turmeric for the body.

Lemon

Lemon is known to be naturally detoxifying and alkalizing in the body and boosts the immune system.
