4 Tips to Start Creativity Flowing

Do you see some people in the world and feel like they must be plugged into a stream of creativity that constantly feeds them with inspiration? And yet you seem to struggle to just get a drop?

Even though we’re all creative beings, it can be challenging to tap into this natural part of ourselves.

But when we do, we begin to realize that creativity is an expression of who we are as human beings. It can help us to manifest our dreams and even become a potent healing force in our lives. It can help us to live more fully and peacefully in the world.

Want to get your creative juices flowing today? I encourage you to try these creativity hacks to get started.

  1. Have restful sleep – Inspiration arises more easily after a restful night or even a nap during the day. Too little sleep can lead to irritability, tiredness and low energy which is not conducive to creativity. Refine your evening routine for optimal results in sleeping and inspiration will more easily arise.

  1. Remember your dreams – This can be a way to access your imagination. As you first awaken in the morning, keep your eyes closed while you’re still lying in bed. Try to remember any details from your dreams. Recall the mood, the location, colors, weather or any other pieces that come to mind. Think of a short title for your dream to help you remember it. Write down what you remember in a journal.

  1. Go for a walk – Taking a walk will get your blood bumping and fresh air into your lungs. It will help new thoughts and ideas start flowing more easily than when you are sitting in a room. Resist the temptation to put on your headset and listen to a podcast or music. Just be present with your environment and thoughts as you walk.

  1. Explore new experiences – Instead of doing what you always do, seek out new sights, places or people. As you take in the new experience, inspiration can more easily find a doorway for a visit. Consider a different route on your walk, go to a new café, attend an interesting event, or take a day trip to a new location. New experiences inspire new ideas!

I hope your creative juices start to flow and you enjoy the benefits! Remember you can return to any of these ideas in the future when you’re looking for creative inspiration.
