Take Care of Yourself BEFORE the Holidays
I set back my clock this past weekend an hour, as we dutifully do each autumn.

Yes, it’ll be getting darker earlier.  A bittersweet moment every year.  A reminder to me that summer is truly over and that winter is on the horizon.

As we journey into this darker time of the year, how are you feeling?

…………….truly feeling?

The holidays are approaching.  Family and friends and festivities.  Have you been taking care of yourself, so you can truly enjoy this season?

When was the last time your eyes lit up with joy? Are you feeling tired or fatigued?

Or are you feeling a lack of sexual desire?

Are you feeling not in control of the reins of your life?  Or able to express your emotions?

Or not feeling open to new ideas or relationships?  Not feeling inspired and creative in your life?

The Sacral Chakra

These are all obstacles that we may experience within our second chakra, the sacral chakra.  It is located in your lower abdomen, a couple inches below your navel and where our emotions reside.

It is the home to our inner child who has an abundance of bubbling energy and loves to play. It is where our creativity is birthed and brought into the world.   Where our sexual energy lives.  And where our relationships grow.

Have you ever been with young children when they see the first snowflakes falling of the season?  Their eyes sparkle with delight.  Soon they are hopping up and down, smiling ear to ear.  They burst through the door and run outside to be in the middle of it.  They laugh as they try to catch snowflakes on their tongues.

Then when enough snow has dusted the ground, they fall down to make snow angels and or try to gather enough to make a snowball.  Soon, they are rolling around, covered head to toe, squealing with joy together.

You too probably had similar experiences as a young child.  You can tap into this abundant joy and energy of your inner child to bring forth now into your life.

Find that playful and adventurous side.  You do not ever lose it in life.  It is always there.  It just may need a little dusting off and coaxing to see the light of day.

Bring that forth into the birthing of your own creative gifts.  And out of this creativity and joy in life, there is a flow that forms of giving and receiving.

Creativity.  Love.  Friendship.

……………..supporting you and who you are.

Nurture yourself in being you.  In your unique gifts.

What are you trying to creatively birth right now in your life?  What is bursting with that bubbling energy of a great idea?  And flowing out into the world? That puts that twinkle in your eye and smile on your face?

Nurture yourself in relationship.

Are you able to give and receive love in your relationship with your loved ones?  Do you laugh with them and share your sense of humor?

Remembering……..

I am love
I am creativity
I am open
I am worthy
I am complete within myself

Healing the Sacral Chakra with Mantra

Chanting a mantra that relates to the Hindu deity associated with this chakra can help you to bring awareness and healing to this chakra, releasing your fatigue and bringing forth your creativity and joy for life.

Saraswati is the goddess of music and arts and also of knowledge and wisdom.  She can inspire our creativity in life.  Helping us to find our own unique gifts to be birthed.  She can support us to find our creative expression that can flow forth in dance, yoga, drawing, painting, singing, and in all aspects of our daily life.

You can find the Healing Saraswati Mantra in my Free Healing Library and chant along with me as you sit in a relaxed, yet upright position.

Before you begin, speak this prayer to the Divine Spirit:

“Divine Spirit, infinite source of life and love, I ask that you support me in bringing balance to my sacral chakra. I release and dissolve any negative energies or experiences within this energy center so that I may bring to birth my own unique creative expression while I grow into the Light of the Divine to become my highest self. “

Then, begin the Saraswati mantra chant.   Remember to end with a moment of silence and inward reflection.

If you would like, share your experiences with this mantra and the sacral chakra in the comment section below. What comes up for you?  How does chanting the mantra support you?
