Reclaim Your Creative Self

Do you consider yourself a creative person, but you’ve lost a connection with this side of yourself?

Maybe you’ve been busy with life and don’t seem to find the time. Or maybe you feel unsure how to reclaim your creative joy at this time in your life.

You know you feel better when you’re exploring and engaging in something creative. It boosts your mood and supports your mental health.

But it just hasn’t happened lately.

Think back to the last time you were doing something creative. Maybe it was drawing or painting. Or singing or dancing. Maybe writing, gardening or something else.

How did it make you feel?

Maybe you remember a vibrant flow of energy that flowed through your body. You were fueled with a breath of inspiration allowing yourself to express what was bubbling up inside. You probably lost track of what was happening in the world outside. You felt stress melt away. You felt alive and joyfully engaged. This powerful creative force seemed to infuse your whole being.

Your creative process might have flowed smoothly, or it might have been bumpy and chaotic at times. There was no need to judge but you simply surrendered to what was moving within you.

Does your soul long to be creative again?

That’s no surprise! We’re naturally creative as human beings. And we’re meant to respond to our longing to be creative in the world.

Are you ready to get creative today? Ready to open that door and invite that longing for creativity to come out and play?

I invite you to take the first steps today in a way that works for you. And soon you’ll be on your way to reclaiming your creative self.

Here are a few ways to get started. Choose the one that calls to you today.

  1. Get moving and singing – Put on some of your favorite music and start to move. Move in any way your body feels inspired from the music. Hum or sing along with the lyrics.

  1. Express yourself in color – Get out some paper and colored pencils, crayons or paints. What colors resonate the most with you today? Choose those and create something inspired by the colors.

  1. Write your thoughts- Open a notebook and begin writing your thoughts and feelings on the page. Anything that comes to your mind. See where this goes. You may be surprised!

By opening the door to your longing for creativity, you’ll rediscover the vibrant energy of your creative spirit. It’ll bring you such joy in your life!
