Don’t Feel Like You’re Very Creative? Try This.

Creativity is like a refreshing breath of life, helping us to thrive. It feeds us, making us feel energized and alive. It gives us the gifts of vitality and strength.

When was the last time you engaged in something creative? Today, last week, last year?

Do you consider yourself a creative person?

Human beings are naturally creative. And being creative brings us back to this state – our true nature.

This is essential to our health and well-being. As long we’re creating, we keep growing, developing, and evolving as individuals and as a community.

If we cease to create, then our life energy decreases. Decay and deterioration enter in.  Our state of health declines.

Do you feel anxious or inadequate when you think about engaging in something creative?

Do you feel that creativity is reserved for those who have special talents or a creative profession?

Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear, shares that if you have fallen for the myth of “not being very creative,” substitute the word “creative” with “curious” in your mind.

Let’s try that with what I shared above.

Curiosity is like a refreshing breath of life for us, helping us to thrive. It feeds us, making us feel invigorated, energized, and alive. It gives us the gifts of vitality, health, and strength.

When was the last time you engaged in something you were curious about? Today, last week, last year?

Do you consider yourself a curious person?

Human beings are naturally curious. And being curious brings us back to this state – our true nature.

This is essential to our health and well-being. As long we’re curious, we keep growing, developing, and evolving as individuals and as a community.

If we cease to be curious, then our life energy decreases. Decay and deterioration enter in. Our state of health declines.

Was that better? Can you see yourself being curious more easily?

Creativity begins with curiosity. If you allow yourself to follow your curiosity, very soon you’ll find yourself in the midst of creativity in your life. You’ll experience your creative nature.
